September 2020 — The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and Enel X select Microgrid Labs and its EVOPT software for planning and development of a 120 bus electric fleet and charging infrastructure at Quincy, Massachusetts, as part of MBTA’s broader plans to design facilities to serve a zero-emissions e-bus fleet. EVOPT is a modeling, simulation, and optimization platform for the planning and operation of light, medium, and heavy-duty electric fleets.
As stated in Enel X’s press release “Enel X and MGL will provide an innovative electrification planning and analysis solution that will help inform MBTA’s electrification strategy and has the potential to be applied in other markets. The analysis will include insights regarding the optimal sizing of vehicle powertrain, battery, charging infrastructure, energy infrastructure including microgrids, as well as the development of an optimal charging strategy.”
We thank MBTA and Enel X for their support and confidence in our technology and team. We consider it a privilege and honor to be part of Enel X’s team for this project.
